Some of our favorite party tips

We’ve talked before about how much we like to throw parties together. Today we’re telling you a few secrets that take it to that next level.

Monochromatic fruit salad

Amanda discovered this years ago and some family members still talk about it. Such a simple idea, but elevates a regular fruit salad to something elegant. It also was really fun (and easy!) to shop for once you know the color pallet. In winter, lean on citrus, in summer get all the stone fruit. Turns an ordinary side dish into a memorable one for sure.

Drink dispenser

The downside of a drink dispenser is having to store it, but the upside is how pretty it looks, I mean just look at that! It’s also practical and a good reminder to have water available. And maybe there’s one you share in your family or friend circle, which is what we do.

Even if you don’t have a drink dispenser, adding lemon or lime slices to a pitcher of water is a lovely touch. These rainbow fruit ice cubes are amazing too! You can even add cucumber slices and impress Emily Gilmore.

One cute food

Not everything has to be complicated, in fact, less complicated is better. This is why all the casseroles, soups and pasta salads were invented. But it’s fun to have one food that’s a little cute or out of the ordinary. If it goes with the theme, even better! Often it’s the dessert (and we LOVE dessert), but we really liked this cute appetizer idea. You could make hummus and veggie cups instead of having them on a platter. Most of the time we don’t go to this kind of effort, once in a while it’s worth it to us.

Happy partying!
